Working on the illustrations already, just thought i’d do the background 1st as that was simple enough to get done quickly and get an idea in what direction to head with them. Thanks for the advice.

Here’s some quick tests with alternate backgrounds to see what might work. Further work to be done on them but just wanted to see if any of these would work.

  Thanks Laura, I thin you should concentrate on working on the illustrations right now as they seem to be still the same. When you have a more polished illustration following the BFI feedback we can look at backgrounds again. Personally, I’m not sure the gradients work, at least not on their own. Thank you

I had a look at stock images for new backgrounds, I tried searching film but that brought up too many images of film strips or the images were too busy for a background so I looked at film burn and light leaks […]

  Hi Laura, difficult to say without seeing them placed in the poster – however, I would definitely suggest you pair those with some kind of texture. Also, have a look at tutorials – those types of backgrounds are ridiculously simple to make in Photoshop or Illustrator.

  Yes, I like these too. Just make sure that the title ‘Be the next step’ doesn’t get lost in the background. Reversing it out in white might even work better on some of the images? In the last version, having the line of the background image run through it doesn’t help – maybe adjust positioning accordingly?

  Nice! I really like the strapline on the right, it leads you off hte page into the future and the next step. I suggest you try it in Helvetica Neue Bold and all caps like the title block.

  Great job Laura. I would bold the strapline. I miss other colours a bit, meaning this is a bit too subdued perhaps, but it could be just me.
